| Seniors Shine at NARCOG’s Older Americans Month Event |

| Every May, NARCOG celebrates Older Americans Month to honor and recognize the older adults who have lived in, worked in, and helped shape the communities of Cullman, Lawrence, and Morgan counties. This year’s celebration brought together seniors from across the region for a morning filled with fun, fellowship, and appreciation.Despite less-than-ideal weather, more than 450 older adults attended the event. | NARCOG Funds Accessible Picnic Tables for Local Communities |
| The NARCOG Area Agency on Aging recently purchased nine ADA-compliant picnic tables for the Town of Holly Pond and the City of Moulton, helping improve accessibility and inclusivity at local community parks. Through projects like these, the NARCOG Area Agency on Aging continues working with local communities to support accessibility, enhance public spaces, and improve quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabilities across the region. | Strengthening Crisis Response in Hillsboro |
| NARCOG partnered with the Town of Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Police Department to prepare and submit an Edward Byrne Memorial State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) grant application for $78,650.80. If awarded, the funding would help provide updated equipment and technology to support officers in the field, especially during high-stress or sensitive calls.By pursuing this funding opportunity, the Town of Hillsboro continues its focus on strengthening public safety and improving officers’ responses in crisis situations.
